uw stevens point graphic design - Dec. 1st 2023During this field trip I had the opportunity to participate in a graphic design workshop. Working in groups of four, we had to brainstorm locations we feel comfortable in, and then combine aspects of our ideas to create a flag that represents us. My group created a scenic flag, where the ocean meets land and the sun is setting, casting a soft glow onto the clouds. I also went on a tour of the Stevens Point campus and learned about the university's opportunities.

miad industrial design critique - Jan. 5th 2024This critique was the culmination of months of work with MIAD professor Murf, a former industrial designer for GE medical. For this project I went through a series of designs that were critiqued by my classmates, my art teacher, and Murf. My final design is the Tattoo Grill, which I presented with posters showing my inspiration, ideation sketches, and final illustrations of the product. I displayed the final posters and explained them in a classroom at MIAD for the final critique.

miad figure drawing - jan. 5th 2024
At MIAD I participated in a figure drawing workshop. With the guidance of a professor, I used different materials including pencil, charcoal pencil, and charcoal to draw a live model. All of the drawings took 10 minutes or less, some of them taking less than 1 minute, and a couple were blind contour drawings. The object of these exercises was to focus on capturing general shape and proportion, instead of small details.

uwm cardboard relief critique - feb. 23rd 2024This project was a collaboration with University of Wisconsin Milwaukee sculpture professor Katie Martin-Meurer. After completing ideation and executing the final design, I hung my work in a gallery space at UWM and was critiqued by Katie, my classmates and art teacher, and a panel including other art professors and community artists. This was a valuable experience to understand how presentation, including how the piece is hung and lit, affects its meaning.
